Born in New York, the son of the Yiddish theater stars Pesach Bursyn and Lillian Lux, Mr. Burstyn made his debut at the age of three. One of Israel’s foremost artists, Mr. Burstyn, rose to fame with his lovable portrayal of the classical role of Kuni Lemel. He is the recipient of two Israeli Oscars and a Life Achievement Award for his pioneering work in the theater, film and TV. For performances on Broadway Mr. Burstyn received the Outer Critics Circle Award Nomination and Drama Desk Award Nomination. Mr. Burstyn’s own TV show in Holland was rated the tenth best in the country.
