Born in 1958, Rabbi Wolpe is the rabbi of Sinai Temple in Los Angeles California and is considered to be a leader of the Conservative Jewish Movement.
Rabbi Wolpe was named the #1 pulpit Rabbi in America by Newsweek magazine (2008) and one of The Forward’s Forward 50. Rabbi Wolpe is the author of many books including Why Be Jewish (1995), Making Loss Matter: Creating Meaning in Difficult Times (1999), and Floating Takes Faith: Ancient Wisdom for a Modern World (2004).
