![]() Forgive me for boring you with reality, especially while celebrating Israel’s 60th. You might protest that the reality is too lousy to even celebrate. Oh but I disagree! I do celebrate and I will. Because the reality, the truth, is that if we go back to basics even for a moment, then we have much to celebrate. For instance, are we racist because we are Zionists? Even the UN that made this crazy resolution in the first place changed its mind and apologized. We are humans and Jews and the reality is we are still here. The world conceded that the Jews have the right to a Jewish State which confirms of course that unlike some views we are not monkeys or pigs, for who amongst them ever had a country? Even according to the UN 242 Resolution Israel was not obliged to return all the territories gained in the 1967 war. In spite of this the Arabs continue to demand that Israel withdraw from all the territories. They audaciously misrepresent the resolution and spread consistent lies about Israel’s recalcitrance to further their ulterior motives to destroy Israel. Until 2001 we felt quite alone but we were mistaken. After 9/11 the light bulb went on to realize that the war Israel has waged against terrorism was a part of a larger more “illustrious” war, based on Islamic Fanaticism designed to take over the world and turn it into a Muslim caliphate. And let’s not forget Iran. Achmadenijad’s Holocaust denial and his plans for nuclear power alarmed the world. His threats made clear the enormous danger which the whole Western world is facing. And “miracle of miracles” Sunni Arabic regimes are uneasy about their competition. |

Saudi Arabia, the heart and soul of Wahabbism that produced this fanatic Islamic fascism, which also fuelled the Palestinian and the Hamas into a frenzy of self righteousness, is concerned about Iran’s ambitions and threats. Are we looking down the barrel of a formidable Shiite vs. Sunni axis in which, incredibly as it sounds, Israel might find some reprieve? The new moderate Arabic regimes are beginning to worry about the boomerang affect of extremism on their stability. Recently the Saudis demanded that suicide bombers stop, an encouraging sign. Let’s hope that those regimes will persuade their people to turn “moderate” towards Israel’s right to exist. Contrary to the endless smear campaigns against Israel, Israel is not the bad guy. Actually, it is the good guy. It does not start wars, it defends itself. It does not throw grandfathers in wheel chairs overboard. It does not lynch. It does not crack babies heads against beach rocks. It does not rejoice when civilians and children, who are used as human shields, die in its defensive measures. It warns people to get out of their houses and take shelter. It accepts sick children from hostile countries and heals them with their superior medical knowledge. It offers rescue assistance to nations even if it knows that it will be rejected. It supplies the Hamas with provisions, though it has attacked Israel every single day since Israel forced its own civilians out of Gaza in a gesture of good will. Terrorism forces Israel into self defensive measures. Israelis mourn their casualties, radical Muslims use theirs as pawns in a game for which, they believe, the West has no guts. War against the Jews is a millennia old war to preserve the Jews status as dihiminis - inferiors without land ownership rights. A society which needs to feel superior can either prove its supremacy or destroy its challengers. The culture of terrorism and suicide bombers chose destruction, proving supremacy by becoming the death squad for what Western society holds most dear - life and self-determination. |
